PARIS – Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that Stateline Construction LLC, Texarkana, Texas, will soon begin erosion repairs at the State Highway 56 bridge over the Bois D’ Arc Creek Relief, east of Bonham, Texas.

The contractor was granted 36 working days, weather permitting, to complete this project valued at more than $587,000. The contractor will begin setting construction signs in this area on Aug. 7, and will begin work on Aug. 8. TxDOT officials anticipate the repairs will be completed by Sept. 25, 2017.

The contractor will install traffic controls, mill the existing pavement and remove some of the concrete pavement, remove existing wing walls and place temporary shoring. They will also install sheet piling, replace the bridge approach slab, traffic rail, mow strip and guardrail end treatments, officials said.

This project will require the contractor to reduce traffic to one lane through the work zone. Motorists who travel in this area are encouraged to obey all traffic controls on site, and reduce their speed while approaching and traveling through this work zone. They should also drive according to road conditions and avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio and navigation systems.
